Youthful Candidates Conference: Youth Participation In Politics Is An Idea Whose Time Has Come

by

Today, I was in Katsina State to attend the Katsina Youths’ Candidates Conference organized by the Zonal Youth Leader(North-West) of the PDP., Hon. Hamza Jibia. The purpose of the Conference was to further solidify and consolidate our Party’s position ahead of the 2022 Local Government Elections. The State chapter has graciously given Youths a veritable platform to participate and impact on their respective Local Governments and Wards. This is in line with the Party’s commitment to Youths Inclusion/Participation in Politics.

I used the opportunity of the occasion to congratulate the Chairman Katsina State chapter of our great Party, Hon. Salisu Yusuf Maijigiri on the successful and peaceful conduct of the primaries. Special praise was also reserved for our indefatigable Zonal Youth Leader(North-West), Hon. Hamza Jibia and Hon. Dahiru Dambo Ingawa, the Youth Leader of the Katsina State PDP chapter for their doggedness and zeal towards ensuring a level playing ground for the Youths of our Party.

In my message to the Candidates, I assured them of our continued support and reminded them to always bear in mind that as politicians from Katsina State, they are riding on the legacies of politicians who impacted greatly on Nigeria. The likes of late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua and his brother, late Major-General Shehu Yar’adua all left inedible marks on the State and Nigeria in general. I enjoined on the Candidates to keep the the flag flying and show resolve in spite of the intimidation that may likely come as a result of being Candidates of the opposition Party.
