Comrade Blessing Okosun, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Coordinator for the Unemployed Youth Association of Nigeria (UYAN), has showered effusive praise on the pioneering Mandate Secretary (Commissioner) of the Youth and Sports Development Secretariat, calling his leadership “a revolutionary force” for youth empowerment in the nation’s capital.
Since assuming office on August 15, 2024, the pioneering Mandate Secretary has delivered what Comrade Okosun described as “unprecedented progress” in just five months. “The Secretary’s work has redefined our expectations of public service. His visionary leadership and hands-on approach are not just commendable—they’re transformative,” Comrade Okosun declared in an impassioned statement.
Highlighting the Secretary’s Accomplishments
Comrade Okosun emphasized several key achievements:
All Area Councils Youth Stakeholders Meeting
“For the first time, youth leaders from all six Area Councils sat at one table. This initiative has fostered unprecedented unity among grassroots stakeholders, proving the Secretary understands the power of collaborative governance to drive real change,” she said.
Dedicated Sports Department
“By establishing this specialized division, the Secretary has shown masterful foresight. Sports aren’t just games—they’re pathways to national pride and economic opportunity. This move will unearth talents who’ll put the FCT on the global map,” Comrade Okosun enthused.
Youth Skills Acquisition Centers
“These centers aren’t just buildings—they’re launchpads for generational empowerment. With 1,000 youths set to graduate annually from Nyanya alone, the Secretary isn’t just fighting unemployment; he’s building a skilled workforce to power Nigeria’s future,” Comrade Okosun stated.
Empowerment Program Accountability
“The inspection team for distributed vehicles is a game-changer. For years, empowerment schemes were plagued by mismanagement. Now, under the Secretary’s watch, every bus and kobo is tracked—ensuring real people reap the benefits,” she affirmed.
Free JAMB Registration
“Education is the greatest equalizer. By removing this financial barrier, the Secretary has opened university doors for thousands who thought their dreams were over. This isn’t just policy—it’s an act of social justice,” Comrade Okosun emphasized.
A Leader Who Walks the Talk
Comrade Okosun reserved her highest praise for the Secretary’s work ethic and integrity. “In a landscape often marred by empty promises, the pioneering Mandate Secretary stands out as a beacon of hope. His actions speak louder than words—every project is executed with precision, transparency, and a genuine desire to uplift,” she said.
She further noted: “What’s most inspiring is his relentless drive. While others celebrate one achievement, he’s already launching the next initiative. This is the kind of leadership that reshapes destinies.”
Youth-Centric Vision for the Future
Comrade Okosun echoed this optimism. “With plans to expand sports infrastructure and skills training, I’m confident the Secretary will exceed even these remarkable milestones. He isn’t just meeting expectations—he’s redefining what’s possible for Nigerian youth.”
