Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has urged the Federal Government to speed up work on the Abuja–Jere–Kaduna section of the Abuja–Kano Expressway.
In a statement after meeting with the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, Governor Sani stressed the importance of completing the project swiftly, noting that the key route will ease traffic congestion and improve travel for millions of Nigerians once finished.
“Our discussions focused on fast-tracking the Abuja–Jere–Kaduna segment of the expressway, which is being built with durable concrete technology,” Sani said. “This vital corridor supports daily travel and economic activity for residents of Kaduna and Nigerians nationwide.”
He described the road as a “national priority” that aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at strengthening infrastructure, boosting economic growth, and deepening regional integration.
The Minister of Works assured the governor that contractors have been directed to operate double shifts to accelerate progress while maintaining quality standards.
Sani added that the Kaduna State Government remains fully committed to collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Works to ensure the project’s timely completion, describing the expressway as a “symbol of renewed hope, national unity, and sustainable development.”
