As reported on Saturday at the southern Kaduna festival, Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has announced plans to upgrade Sir Patrick Yakowa General Hospital in Kafanchan to a federal medical centre.
The conversion is expected to greatly enhance healthcare accessibility in the area, strengthen tertiary healthcare services, and provide opportunities for advanced medical training and research.
In addition to this development, Sani also mentioned the revitalisation of 53 primary healthcare centres in the area, as well as the upgrades of healthcare facilities in Kachia, Kafanchan, and Kaura to general hospitals.
The governor emphasized his commitment to inclusive governance, stating that his administration is focused on equitable development across all parts of Kaduna.
Sani highlighted key achievements in his 18 months in office, including the construction of important roads like Gwantu-Kibam-Godogodo road and the installation of 200 solar streetlights in zone 3 for enhanced safety.
The upcoming completion of the Kaduna state vocational and technology skills acquisition city in Samaru Kataf, which can train 12,000 individuals annually, further reflects the governor’s dedication to rural development and sustainable growth.
