Highly esteemed Nigerian pastor and gospel minister, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to minister at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
The event is a non-governmental and non-political gathering hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner, set to take place before the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
Known affectionately as “Pastor Nath,” Nathaniel Bassey will be among other esteemed speakers and ministers, including Dr. Alveda King, Pastor Mario Bramnick, Revivalist Rebecca Macchi, and Dr. Dominiquae Bierman. The prayer breakfast will be held at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom in Washington, D.C.
Bassey confirmed his participation on Instagram, expressing excitement about the opportunity to worship and intercede for the nation. He shared further details about the event, emphasizing its faith-based nature and purpose.
The renowned gospel artist, who hails from Akwa Ibom, previously received the honor of having a day named after him in Albany, New York, in 2024. In response, he expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and shared his desire to spread the gospel of Christ.
Bassey is well-known for his exceptional voice and trumpet playing. He recently released an 18-track album titled The River and has several other popular albums and songs to his credit.
