Motorists plying Mararaba to Keffi express road will soon smile with the new directive handed by the chairman of Karu Local Government Area.
This is In a bid to enhance road safety and decongest traffic, which has prompted Hon. Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, to initiating the relocation of trailer parking from both side of the road at Maliya Market to a designated garage.
In that respect the chairman Presided over a crucial meeting involving stakeholders of Maliya International Livestock Market and Farm Ltd, Tudun-Wada, Hon. Madaki emphasized that trailers would no longer be allowed to park along the highway, citing safety and traffic concerns.
He commended the management of Maliya International Livestock Market for their cooperation in providing space for the new trailer park and urged them to support the government’s efforts to ensure smooth implementation.
Speaking at the meeting, the Managing Director of Maliya International Livestock Market and Farm Ltd, Mohammed Musa, expressed appreciation with the council’s commitment to clearing illegal roadside parking. He assured of full compliance with the directive while requesting that the government assist in grading the designated trailer park within the market.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the MD/CEO of Karu Greater Development Control Agency, Yakubu Auta Haruna; Council Secretary, Hon. Habu Abraham Ekpo, Ph.D.; and the Taskforce Chairman of Karu LGA, Salisu Mukhtar Umar.
