Tottenham Hotspur battled valiantly to earn a 2-2 draw after a dramatic second-half comeback against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
The match began with an early surge from Brighton, with Yankuba Minteh breaking the deadlock in the 8th minute. The home side continued to dominate, and their pressure paid off again in the 31st minute when Swedish midfielder Yasin Ayari doubled Brighton’s lead, sending the Amex crowd into raptures.
However, Tottenham showed their resilience. Just before the break, in the 43rd minute, Brazilian forward Richarlison pulled one back for Spurs, capitalising on a well-timed pass to beat the Brighton goalkeeper, bringing the deficit to one.
The second half was a tense affair, with Brighton eager to restore their two-goal lead and Tottenham pushing for the equaliser. The breakthrough finally came in the 82nd minute when Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke, under pressure from Spurs’ attackers, inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, levelling the score at 2-2.

In the closing minutes, both sides pushed for a winner, but neither could find the back of the net, leaving the points shared after an intense 90 minutes.
Brighton, despite maintaining a strong home record, will be disappointed to have squandered a two-goal advantage, while Tottenham will see the draw as a testament to their character and fighting spirit on the road.
The draw leaves Tottenham five points off the Premier League leaders, while Brighton remains in mid-table, reflecting an inconsistent start to their season.
