The Southern Governors’ Forum (SGF) has extended heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, following the death of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo, who passed away on Monday at the age of 83.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, the Forum expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of a respected elder. This comes on the heels of the recent passing of Lady Lydia Yilwatda, the mother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
The SGF encouraged Governor Ododo to find comfort in the lasting legacies of his late father, who passed on surrounded by his loved ones, including children and grandchildren. These legacies, they noted, will continue to inspire service to God and humanity.
The statement read, “The Southern Governors’ Forum commiserates with His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, on the transition of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo. The loss of a devoted father, who instilled in his children the teachings of Allah, leaves a void that is difficult to fill.”
The Forum also expressed solidarity with the Governor, his family, and the people of Kogi State during this challenging time. They added, “May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.”
