Prominent Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as courageous steps that will secure a better future for generations to come.
Speaking to journalists in Kabba, Kogi State, Prince Olusoji called for national patience and collective resolve in navigating the short-term effects of recent policies introduced by the Federal Government, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the floatation of the Naira.
“These are bold, necessary steps that address deep-rooted economic distortions and corruption,” Prince Olatunji remarked. “Our children and grandchildren will reap the rewards of these bold steps taken by the president.”
The business magnate acknowledged the challenges currently facing many Nigerians as the economy adjusts to the sweeping changes, but maintained that the reforms will position the country for sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
“The benefits may not be immediate, but in the long run, we will see the impact. We must support this administration and give these reforms time to work,” he added.
Prince Olusoji also used the opportunity to praise the current Governor of Kogi State, lauding his humility and the peaceful transition of power between him and his predecessor. He urged the governor to maintain focus on delivering development and good governance to the people.
“There is something truly commendable about how the current governor has related with his predecessor. That kind of cooperation is what strengthens institutions and drives progress,” he said.
Beyond politics and economics, Prince Olusoji reflected on his passion for philanthropy, describing it as a core part of his identity. “I want my name to be a key that unlocks doors for generations to come,” he said, noting that true legacy lies in making meaningful contributions to society.
When asked about his political ambitions, he acknowledged his roots in Delta State politics and hinted at a willingness to serve if the opportunity arises.
“I am always ready to serve the people, but for me, politics is about service, not personal gain. It must be about advancing humanity,” he said.
A graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Benin, Prince Olusoji also holds academic credentials from internationally renowned institutions including Oxford, Harvard, and the London School of Politics. His business empire spans strategic sectors such as oil and gas, marine, aviation, logistics, and security consultancy, reflecting both his entrepreneurial acumen and his broad national outlook.
