A notorious bandit leader known as Jankare has been killed by a rival faction during a violent clash along the Dutsenma axis of Katsina State.
The deadly confrontation erupted following a dispute between Jankare and another bandit commander over recent criminal activities and territorial control in the area. Jankare, infamous for terrorizing communities across Dutsenma and neighboring local government areas, was reportedly shot dead amid the violent encounter.
Jankare had been linked to numerous deadly attacks, kidnappings, and cattle rustling operations. He was also notorious for his presence on TikTok, where he widely displayed weapons and taunted security forces.
Insiders revealed that Jankare recently attended a meeting of bandit leaders aimed at resolving disputes and coordinating illegal operations. However, tensions escalated after the gathering, ultimately leading to his death at the hands of a rival gang.
Security operatives are currently monitoring the area closely to prevent any retaliatory attacks between the rival groups, aiming to restore stability to the region.
