Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared his support for United States President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza, but issued a stark warning that Israel would act alone if Hamas rejects the deal.

Speaking on Sunday, Netanyahu said he was ready to embrace Washington’s framework for peace but insisted Israel retained the right to pursue its own course.

“If Hamas agrees, there can be an end to the war. If Hamas refuses, Israel will finish the job by itself,” he warned.

The statement underscores Israel’s dual approach of backing diplomatic efforts led by its closest ally while maintaining a hard line against the militant group.

The US initiative aims to bring an end to months of devastating conflict, but scepticism remains over Hamas’s willingness to accept the terms and Israel’s readiness to halt its military campaign.
