Dr Michael Nwoko, the brother of Senator Ned Nwoko, has appealed for calm over the reported marital crisis between the lawmaker and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
In a statement released on Sunday, 19 October 2025, Dr Nwoko called on the public to show understanding, describing the matter as “a private family issue that will be resolved internally.”
“I respectfully crave the indulgence of all fans and people of goodwill to be calm and continue to demonstrate understanding as whatever is happening between Distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko and his dear wife, Mrs Regina Daniels Nwoko, is a private family matter. It would be resolved internally. Thank you all, and God bless,” he said.
His remarks followed online reactions to a viral video released a day earlier, in which Regina Daniels accused her husband of domestic violence and expressed distress over the state of their marriage. The video, which circulated widely on social media, triggered mixed feelings among fans and Nigerians who demanded accountability and restraint from both parties.
The senator, representing Delta North Senatorial District, had earlier denied the allegation, accusing the actress of drug and alcohol abuse a claim that has continued to divide public opinion.
Dr Nwoko’s measured tone has been viewed by many as an attempt to de-escalate the controversy and restore privacy to the family. While some social media users commended his call for peace, others criticised the handling of the situation, suggesting that the couple should have settled their differences away from public glare.
Several online commentators urged the couple to seek reconciliation, expressing sympathy for their young family. “This should have been the senator’s first response,” one user wrote, while another prayed for “wisdom and understanding for both Ned and Regina.”
