Nasiru Buba, the man who accused Jigawa Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara, of having an illicit affair with his wife, has rejected the verdict of the Sharia Court which absolved the politician of wrongdoing.

In a recent ruling by the Kano Upper Sharia Court, the case of adultery against Sankara was dismissed due to lack of evidence. The presiding judge emphasized that the police investigation found no proof of an illicit affair between the commissioner and Tasleem Baba Nabegu.

Despite the court’s decision, Buba expressed dissatisfaction, stating that he presented numerous pieces of evidence to support his claims , including 854 pictures, over 100 video clips, over 200 WhatsApp voice notes and over 500 hours of call records.Frustrated Buba believes If the court cleared them, they are not cleared in the eyes of God and the eyes of people who know the truth about the situation. I leave everything to Allah and he will be the judge, Insha Allah.” Buba said..

Buba’s lawyer, Rabi’u Sidi, criticized the lack of communication regarding the court proceedings, noting that they were not informed of the hearing. The legal team plans to discuss the next steps in pursuing justice for Buba’s allegations.

The case drew attention when the Kano State Hisbah board arrested the commissioner with a married woman at an uncompleted building in August 2024. Despite the denial of the allegations by the commissioner, Buba remains steadfast in his claims and trusts that justice will prevail.
