Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has expressed optimism about regaining full fitness and form after scoring his first goal of the season in his side’s 1–1 draw with AC Milan at the Gewiss Stadium.
The Nigerian international found the back of the net with a composed left-footed strike, cancelling out Samuele Ricci’s opener for Milan and extending Atalanta’s unbeaten run in Serie A.
Speaking to DAZN after the game, Lookman said his focus remains on improving physically and helping the team convert their performances into wins.
> “It was important to be available to the team again,” he said. “I hope to get even more fit. It took me a while, but now we have to grow and aim to win the next few games. When I’m on the pitch, the most important thing is to help the team win.”
Lookman’s goal arrived at a crucial moment for coach Ivan Jurić’s side, who had drawn five consecutive matches before facing Milan.
