All primary and secondary schools in Kano State will proceed on Eid-el-Kabir holiday from Wednesday, 4th June, to Sunday, 16th June, 2025, according to a directive issued by the state government.
In a statement signed by Balarabe Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Kano State Ministry of Education, parents and guardians of students in boarding schools were advised to pick up their children early on Wednesday, 4th June. Students are expected to resume academic activities on Sunday, 15th June, 2025.
The statement clarified that the rest of the 2024/2025 academic calendar, including already announced public holidays, remains unchanged.
Kiru noted that the announcement is part of efforts to ensure proper planning around the festive period while maintaining the integrity of the academic timetable. He also conveyed appreciation from the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Makoda.
“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the usual support and cooperation given to the Ministry by the good people of the state and also wish the students and pupils a successful Sallah break,” the statement read.
Dr. Makoda urged parents to ensure their children return on the scheduled date to avoid disruptions to the school programme.
