Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has signed a $120 million Memorandum of Understanding with African Industries Group to establish a state-of-the-art greenhouse project in Gujeni.
In a statement, the governor described the deal—signed during his recent trip to Bucharest, Romania—as a turning point in Kaduna’s efforts to harness its vast agricultural potential. The agreement, involving African Industries Group Chairman Raj Gupta and the Bank of Agriculture, is expected to revolutionise irrigation farming in Gurara and usher in a new era of agricultural development.
Governor Sani said the partnership goes beyond investment, positioning Kaduna as a future hub of agro-industrial excellence. Leveraging the State’s Special Agro-Processing Zone (SAP-Z) and the Africa Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC), farmers will be able to compete globally, strengthen food security, revitalise rural communities, and create jobs for young people.
He also stressed that Romania’s strong agricultural base and ties to the European market would enhance Kaduna’s global trade prospects. Reaffirming his commitment, Governor Sani said Kaduna is building a resilient, globally connected economy to secure prosperity for its citizens.
