Controversial Nigerian social media critic VeryDarkMan has voiced his frustration over a Nollywood film that appears to be based on his life.

He criticised the producers for failing to reach out to him before creating the project.

The activist reacted after a movie poster began trending online, showing veteran actor Gentle Jack playing a character clearly modeled after him.

Taking to his Instagram page on Sunday, VeryDarkMan shared his thoughts, making it clear he was not pleased with the situation.

While he acknowledged that he doesn’t mind his life being adapted into a movie, he expressed disappointment that the filmmakers never approached him to hear his story.

“I have a problem with it, to be very honest I’m not even happy with it,” he said. “Baba Gentle Jack for write to me say, VDM what is your story, I want to play your story.”

In a caption accompanying his video post, he further criticised the film, writing: “By now I am sure most of you have seen the movie NOLLYWOOD DID WHERE LEGENDARY GENTLE JACK PLAY ME (very dark man). Honestly I am not happy about the movie, it cr!nggd me I was so irrrtdd even watching it. They got the right character and our look-alike, however, the story was just !rrrt@tnng.”
