Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has praised the “Mother of the Nation,” Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her unwavering support and affection for the people of Plateau State.
Governor Mutfwang made these remarks during the funeral service of Nana Lydia Yilwatda, mother of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, held last weekend at the COCIN headquarters in Jos.
He acknowledged that Plateau has greatly benefited from the love and care of the First Family.
> “The Mother of the Nation, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has twice extended her motherly wings of love over us — offering consolation and encouragement as we strive to restore peace in Plateau, true to our identity as the Home of Peace and Tourism,” the governor said.
Mutfwang also revealed a personal tribute:
> “Before my younger brother, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, publicly declared himself as the First Son of President Tinubu, I had already applied to have her as my mother. So let me say with humility and pride: She is my mother. Her visits to Plateau have truly endeared her to our people.”
The governor emphasized the need for the state to reciprocate the First Lady’s kindness and support.
> “On behalf of the good people of Plateau State, I thank Her Excellency for her continued commitment to our developmental efforts and for being here today.”
Mutfwang further disclosed plans to invite President Tinubu for an official visit soon, so he can witness firsthand the progress aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
