Turkish football club Fenerbahce has announced the departure of Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, after just one season in charge. The club revealed the decision in a statement shared on its official social media platform, X, on Friday.

The statement expressed gratitude towards Mourinho, who had been at the helm since the beginning of the 2024/2025 season. “We have parted ways with Jose Mourinho, who has been the manager of our Professional Football A Team since the 2024-2025 season. We thank him for his efforts for our team and wish him success in his future career,” the statement read.

Mourinho, now 62, joined Fenerbahce in June 2024, bringing his vast experience from previous managerial stints at top clubs such as Chelsea and Real Madrid. However, despite high hopes, his tenure at the Turkish giants came to an unexpected end following a series of mixed results in both domestic and European competitions.
