Former Kogi State Deputy Governor Edward David Onoja has stated that he has no regrets serving under the immediate-past Governor Yahaya Bello. He described his time in office as a significant opportunity for personal growth and national recognition.
Speaking during an interview on the “MiC On Podcast,” which aired on Saturday night, Onoja expressed gratitude for the chance to serve alongside Bello, despite the political setbacks that occurred during the 2023 elections.
“I have no regret serving with Yahaya Bello. He gave me the opportunity to learn and to grow, he gave me a national face,” Onoja said.
The former deputy governor, who was once widely regarded as Kogi’s de facto leader and Bello’s political heir apparent, emphasized that his tenure provided him with valuable lessons in leadership and governance.
During the interview, Onoja reflected on his political journey and his relationship with Bello, including the events that led to Bello’s decision to endorse the current Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, as his successor in 2023.
