The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed Senator Nenadi Usman, a former Minister of Finance and the National Chairman of the Peter Obi faction of the Labour Party, as the new Reconciliation and Coalition Chairman for Kaduna State.
The appointment, which was announced by the ADC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Ja’afaru Sani, is part of the party’s strategic move to restore peace, strengthen internal unity, and reposition the party ahead of future political engagements in the state and across the northern region.
According to Sani, Senator Usman’s vast political experience and reputation for bridge-building made her a natural choice for the role. He noted that the party has faced several internal challenges in Kaduna, ranging from leadership disputes to factional divides, which have hindered its growth and effectiveness at the grassroots level.
“The ADC believes in inclusion, dialogue, and reconciliation. Senator Nenadi Usman embodies these principles and has the capacity to bring all stakeholders together to rebuild trust and focus on service to the people,” Sani stated.
He further cautioned against political interference from external forces seeking to destabilize opposition parties, stressing that such actions only weaken democratic development in the country. Sani called for collective commitment from all members to uphold the party’s ideals and contribute positively to national progress.
The Vice Chairman also disclosed that the party leadership has resolved to sanction some expelled members who took legal action against a national leader of the party. He said such acts of indiscipline have contributed to the party’s stagnation and must be addressed decisively to restore order and discipline within the system.
“No political organization can thrive amidst internal sabotage. We are taking firm steps to ensure that members respect the constitution of the ADC and channel their grievances through established mechanisms rather than external courts,” he added.
