ZULUM:The Governor was not in the convoy as he flew by Helicopter

UPDATE ATTACK
1. On 251027A Sep 20, terrorist elements attacked the Governor’s convoy near Madari Village, between Monguno and Cross Kauwa villages in Kukawa LGA. The Governor was not in the convoy as he flew by Helicopter. The Governor was on an assessment tour of Baga in preparation for the return of thousands of residents displaced from the town by the jihadists in 2015 and 2018.The insurgents opened fire with machine guns and RPGs as the convoy was passing through a village close to the headquarters of 19Bde MNJTF. Casualties on troops are 3KIA, 9 NP killed, 3CJTF killed and 2 civilians killed. The NP Area Comd and 3CJTF are missing likely abducted. Also, the terrorists carted away 6 x Hilux vehicles from the convoy. Out of the 6 x vehicles one x GT and 2 x CJTF Hilux vehicles were recovered by troops. 4 other persons were injured during the attack. Please find pictures attached.
RTA
2. At about 251305A Sep 20, troops of Amphibious Bde heading to Baga town were involved in RTA. During the accident, 2 soldiers were KIA and 3 others WIA.
CONVERGENCE OF TERRORISTS
3. On 26 Sep 20, terrorist elements are said to be converging massively at Bunari Village, Kukawa LGA. The terrorist are said to have blocked the road while luxurious Busses with occupants are already heading for the commencement of Resettlement plan by state govt at Baga. Monitoring on-going.
