ZAMFARA JOINS APC: Governor Bello Matawalle Maradun Decamps

Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle, has joined to the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections dumping the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

An aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Bashir Ahmed, announced this on his verified Facebook page on Sunday morning.

Although the governor is yet to confirm his defection officially, Ahmed said, “So Zamfara is back home! Welcome, Matawalle.”

The ZAMFARA star Governor last month visited President Buhari to brief him on the security situation in ZAMFARA to which the President promised to assist.

Matawalle’s defection, when made official, would see him join the likes of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, who had recently dumped the PDP for the ruling APC.

Efforts to reach the  Commissioner for information and the SA media to the Governor have proved abortive.

Speculations are however filtering in that the Governor of Bauchi State Bala Mohammed May be next in line in a wave of defections as the general elections is only by 19 months away.
