Zamfara civil servants get cows, rams

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has distributed 5,667 rams and 993 cows to civil servants and groups in the state to enable them to celebrate Sallah.
In a statement, the Director General to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yusuf Idris, said the gesture was part of Matawalle’s efforts to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Idris said, “Considering the high cost of essential commodities, especially the animals in the market, the governor found it imperative to buy and distribute the animals to civil servants and other groups free of charge for the Eid Elkabir celebration.”

Idris stressed that the gesture would also bring down the prices of rams and cows in the state.
