Zacharias gifts party supporters with tricycles, motorcycles other sites

No fewer than twenty (20) party supporters in Idah Federal constituency have benefited from the poverty alleviation Programme of the member representing Idah federal constituency, Kogi State, Hon. David Idris Zacharias targeted at party members.

The items presented includes motorcycles, Tricycles, sowing machines, barbing kits and other informal business items, carried out at the weekend in two separated isolated events, due to the prevention of large crowds in the bid to prevent the spread of corona virus.

Speaking at the one of the presentation ceremony which was done on behalf of the lawmaker to the family of two deceased supporters, Zonal chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kogi East, Hon. Ahmed Attah, said the gesture of Zacharias was to assist them in carrying our menial business activities to sustain their families.

Ahmed Attah, who appreciated Hon. Zacharias for keeping to his promise, said he was grateful with the manner in which the lawmaker has disposed himself to meeting the needs of his constituents since he assumed office and assured him that the party would continually hold him in very high esteem.

Recall that the lawmaker promised the widows of Late Abuh Orlando and Sumaila Yakubu that he would provide assistance to the family in the event of their husband’s demise, kept to the promise in the face of other assistance he assured would get to them in the coming days.

In another informal ceremony in his Lokoja residence, Hon. Zacharias who took some beneficiaries by surprise, called them individually and presented tricycles, motorcycles, barbing kits to them, predominantly supporters whose contributions in the last election he said were legendry.

The federal lawmaker who spoke in a short ceremony to distribute the items at a gathering of just five party members, said the empowerment gesture, was geared towards collaborating with Governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment to reduce poverty to the barest minimum and to reward hard work and loyalty in the party.

Earlier in the week, Hon. Zacharias presented a complete set sewing industrial machine to a physically challenged fashion designer whom he had never met physically, but came across him on the Facebook with a promise to assisting him get a sewing machine.

He called on other supporters who have not benefited yet to be patient with him, adding that he would continue to reach out to them unannounced as the economic situations improves in relation to available items at his disposal in the coming days.

Furthermore, in appreciation for their contributions in providing local intelligence and compliment the efforts of the security agencies in Ejule community, the lawmaker also gifted the vigilante group, two motorcycles to assist them in their daily patrol and promised of periodically seeing too their welfare needs to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

Some of the beneficiaries who appreciated him for his gesture, said the items were seen as seeds that must be nurtured to yield greater outputs to further reduce poverty in the their families.

They assured him of supporting him and the party, adding that he has really change the narratives in the constituency with his style of leadership they are recommend to other lawmakers and aspiring political officer seekers.

It would be recalled that the lawmakers sometime in 2019, distributed empowerment items to constituents irrespective of political consideration with over three hundred million naira, but commenced gradual appreciation of party loyalists at the last election.
