You’re Nobody — Asari Dokubo Challenges Wike

by

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has publicly expressed his support for Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, while accusing soldiers sent by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, of flying over his residence. The incident occurred on the same day as the local government chairmanship elections in Rivers State.

In a passionate speech, Dokubo declared, “Wike’s soldiers and police have been hovering over my home with two helicopters. I have the capability to handle them. Nigeria will not bow down to Wike. Rivers people will not submit to Wike. I have the means to handle them and the government is aware of that. They should advise Wike to step back.”

Asserting his fearlessness, Dokubo emphasized, “I am 60 years old. I have never feared death. I have always embraced it. I did not go out seeking their helicopter to shoot it down. But I will shoot down their helicopter. I swear by Allah. Whoever is in charge of them should take heed. It is time for Tinubu to relinquish power. Wike is insignificant without the trappings of his position. Remove those from him and let’s see. I will cast my vote and you will witness it. Results will be announced, chairmen will be inaugurated, and we will observe.”

Displaying his unwavering courage, Dokubo proclaimed, “I am 60 years old. I have never shied away from death. I have always welcomed it. I did not actively seek out their helicopter to take it down. But I will shoot down their helicopter. I swear by Allah. Those commanding them should take note. It is time for Tinubu to relinquish control. Wike is a nobody without the trappings of his office. Remove those from him and let’s see. I will cast my vote, and you will witness it. The results will be declared, chairmen will be sworn in, and we shall observe.”
