Civil rights activist and social crusader, Comrade Usman Austin Okai has warned Kogi Commissioner for Information, Mr Kingsley Fanwo to mind his reckless utterances against the Former Governors of the state, saying his rights does not guarantee his misguided posture before the public against the former leaders – who have paid their dues.
This is coming from the concocted lies orchestrated by Kogi Commissioner over the ghost achievements of the administration of Gov Yahaya Bello – who has practically no tangible project to show for his six years stewardship of the confluence state.
Okai submitted that Fanwo’s inordinate ambition towards the 2023 House of Representatives contest, and his sudden affluence from his previous hand to mouth status in the present administration has taken over his capacity to reason logically and objectively.
According to Comrade Usman Austin Okai, the former leaders from Kogi east who were harbouring and who provided him a financial soft landing after a lot of pleas from his political godfather from Kogi west – in a quest to improve his personal welfare are now objects of ridicule and denigration before on the National television.
“Fanwo has soon forgotten when he was loitering around the Governor’s office and that of the Deputy Governor for any assignment – that will sustain him and his family – as a mere reporter with Vanguard newspaper in Lokoja.”
“The offence of the former Kogi leaders from Kogi east is his accommodation and engagement to make ends meet at his trying period when they held sway.”
“Even though he may have lost his mind in the cause of defending the indefensible administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello, there is need to remind him that Kogi west is not known for such rascality and sycophancy – all in a bid to remain relevant at the corridor of power.”
“Evangelist Fanwo (has he calls himself) who has since lost his divine nomenclature to political rascality is now cocooned into cooked and blatant lies capable of fanning the embers of tribal disunity all in a bid to polish the image of the unpopular administration of Governor Yahaya Bello who he has served in the last six years with nothing to show for apart from his love affair for ostentatious lifestyle at the detriment of civil servants in the state and pensioners”.
He asked Fanwo in his quest to satisfy and impress his pay master not to plant a seed of ethnic discord in Kogi state among the three Senatorial districts stating that, his rejection by the people of Kogi west for initiating a new turn of violent politics in the area is still fresh in their minds.
“Is he not aware that he is already an outcast in Kogi west because of his prominent role in the importation of thugs and the violent dimension the politics of Kogi west has assumed in the last six years.?”
He warned him on his divisive tendencies and utterances that will likely not augur well for the state and Nigeria at large. Kogi is known to be a cosmopolitan state and narrow individuals like Hon Fawon should not destroy the age long progress made to make Kogi state a cultural melting point.
