Ankpa Development Support Group , on Friday hosted a dinner party in honour of former Director General of National Airspace Satellite Development Agency (NASDA), Professor Seidu Onailo Mohammed who bowed out of the agency he superintended over eleven years.

The personalities of high repute of Ankpa origin and other part of Igala gathered at A-class park and event center Wuse 11 Abuja FCT on Friday, poured encomiums on the outgone director general for uplifting the agency to a proud international limelight and demonstration of professionalism as an Igala man during his tenure as DG.

His successor Dr Halilu Ahmad Shaba the Director-General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) said the outgoing director general, the longest serving director general left no one in doubt in his laudable performance that led to the launching of SAT 1 and SAT 2 satellites to the international airspace and various transformations witnessed under his leadership.

“ We cannot but praise him for been an embodiment of dependable leadership. He has demonstrated higher performance and kept a touch with his root so, no wonder, he was conferred with the tittle of Oga Attah Igala, a revered higher tittle in Igala land for those that have achieved much”.

He commended Prof. Mohammed for the substantial capacity development in the space agency, which led to the training of reasonable numbers of staff now with Msc. and doctorate degrees and this has boosted knowledge in space management.

The celebrant and DG of NASDA, Prof. Seidu Onailo Mohammed expressed satisfaction for the large turn out to grace his sent – off and who also showed appreciation for what he was able to achieve during his tenure as head of the agency.
“ While I give glory to God Almighty, I couldn’t have succeeded in all I did but for the cooperation and support of all my staff and I give kudos to them. I also implore them to try and maintain the standard we have so far achieved over time”.

“ For what we have achieved in the airspace management overtime, especially the establishment of Space Academy, we have been able to change the paradigm and raised the space operation to the next level. This has indeed earned us commendation from the leadership of African Space Society so, we can raise our head high “.
