We’ve withdrawn petition against Fubara’s election — LP

The Labour Party of Nigeria says it has withdrawn its petition against the election of Rivers State governor Sim Fubara, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last election.

Recall that LP had challenged Fubara’s victory with the Appeal Court in Lagos State striking out its petition and affirming the victory of the PDP candidate.

But LP’s governorship candidate in the election, Beatrice Itubo, said the party had discontinued with the case.

She disclosed this on Saturday during a chat with Channels Television in her Ogbakiri country home, Emohua local government area of Rivers State.

According to Itubo, the decision was taken after deliberations with governor Fubara.

She also pledged her support for the current administration for the good of the state.
