The Convener of Igala Vanguard, Mr. Eng. Lawrence Akpa, has asked Gov. Yahaya Bello to come and clear the air on the purported graffiti making the rounds in which he was alleged to have maligned the Igala nation.
According to Mr Akpa, base on the graffiti making the rounds, which has demean the entire Igala people, wants the governor to make a statement, regarding a statement credited to him on February 16, while addressing Ebira leaders, described his silence as adding more insult to a people who are well cultured, with moral and self esteem as well as an acceptance that he actually carpeted a people with dignified values.
The graffiti making the rounds according to Akpa labelled the Igala nation as people who can sale their values and self esteem for a paltry six thousand naira.
Mr Akpa also lamented that the Igala nation not only has a well established leadership, he described those the governor was alleged to have mentioned as Igala leaders as very unacceptable and insultative, describing a people who are the ninth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, and who have produced some of the leading lights in the nations history in that manner as worrisome.
Mr. Akpa said the Igala Vanguard would wait patiently for the governor to clear the air, after which he maintained the vanguard would issue a statement, warned that the Igala nation would not fold its hands for it to be denigrated, and aspersions cast on her people.
