We Stand by Our Decision: You Can’t Intimidate Anyone of Us, PDP Governors Replies Wike’s Threats, Reiterates Support for Fubara.

 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum has condemned former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike’s threats against PDP-controlled states, labeling them as “unbridled” and “irresponsible.” The forum expressed support for Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara and called on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to grant him his rightful position as the leader of the party in the state.

Wike had earlier threatened to take action against PDP-controlled states that threatened his political structure in Rivers State, stating that he would “put fire” in their states. The PDP Governors’ Forum described Wike’s comments as “unacceptable” and emphasized their commitment to a “touch one, touch all” approach, pledging to support one another both individually and collectively.

The forum maintained that their position on the affairs of the PDP in Rivers State is not subject to review by any individual and emphasized their commitment to working with the NWC to ensure that Governor Fubara is conferred with all the privileges he is entitled to as a Governor elected on the platform of the party.

The PDP Governors’ Forum reiterated their unwavering commitment to party unity, stating that their recent actions demonstrate their dedication to the principles of unity and collective advancement.

In a statement, the forum said, “We will not be intimidated by threats from any individual, no matter how highly placed. We are committed to working together to build a stronger and more united party.”

The forum also emphasized that their support for Governor Fubara is not a personal endorsement, but rather a commitment to upholding the principles of the party.

The PDP Governors’ Forum stated, “We stand by our decision to support Governor Fubara and call on the NWC to grant him his rightful position as the leader of the party in Rivers State. We will not be swayed by threats or intimidation.”
