The dwindling hope in the development of the educational standard in Nigeria has been rekindled.
This became glaring when Peter Oghenetega Torere, a JSS 1 student of Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Okura, made Kogi State proud by giving limbs and credence to The Child Rights Act, through the recitation of the simplified version of The Child Rights Act 2003 in an International programme tagged: NATIONAL POLICY DIALOGUE ON ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN IN NIGERIA organized by Ministry of Women Affairs and UNICEF in Abuja.
The visibly elated vice president, Professor Osibanjo charged him to continue in his track to making Nigeria stand tall in the committee of nations.
On her part, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen OFR, KSG called on State Governments in Nigeria to domesticate The Child Rights Act to ensure adequate protection of the Nigerian child.
A veteran Broadcaster and Journalist, Moji Makanjuola who anchored the programme expressed joy and called for a standing ovation for Tega and thanked his parent Mr and Mrs Glory Torere and the Nigerian Navy Secondary School for grooming the young hero.
