On the 14th of january 2021,The Otiji of Odo-eto, Chief Umoru Musa – the Paramount ruler of Odo-eto community made a petition against Omaye Salifu Igono before the AIG office zone 8 Lokoja for criminal intimidation and threat to his life that of his family and the members of his council inclusive of Edibo Ismaila and Mohammed Shaibu who were kidnapped at the early hours of 31st of January 2021( 2am)
On the petition the said Omaye threatened the Chief his Children and the Council members that whoever stands his way during his purported Beading as the acting Chief of Odo-eto will be terminated. And nothing will Happen because he has the backing of Ajaokuta LG Chairman Hon. Mustapha Akaaba, The Oyi of Egayi, Chief Musa Asuja and that of Kogi State government, that the Chairman has confirmed his appointment as the acting Chief of Odo-eto community despite he is not an indegene of Odoeto but has plans to take over the community with his cohorts and the local government chairman as he claimed for selfish reasons.
Upon receiving this petition the AIG operatives severally invited him to appear before their office which he neglected, disobeyed and dishonored because to him he has the backing of government.
Two weeks after Salifu’s threat to the life of the Paramount ruler of Odo-eto community and his council members, two members of the community were kidnapped.
These are:
1). Edibo Ismaila the Personal Assistant to the Paramount chief of Odo-eto community
2). Mohammed Shaibu the youth Leader of Odo-eto community (both are members of Igala Youth Council).
From the facts stated above, the Kidnapping of this two council members of Odo-eto community is not unconnected to the earlier threat issued by Omaye Igono Salifu.
We use this medium to call on the Kogi State government and all the law enforcement agencies to do the needful and secure the immediate release of these individuals. And the subsequent arrest of Omaye Salifu Igono and his accomplice who masterminded this grave crime against humanity
We equally use this medium to advice the agrived youths not to put laws into their hand while hoping that the law enforcement officers will do the needful as all possible and legal modalities has been put in place.
