Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged state governors to prioritize human and capital development programs to fast-track sustainable social and economic development in the country. He made this call during the inauguration of the remodeled Government House in Bauchi, which was constructed by the Bala Mohammed administration.
Shettima emphasized the crucial role state governments play in addressing challenges such as healthcare, education, and security, and in driving human development and social change. He noted that many Nigerian states lag behind global standards in terms of development indices and stressed the need for effective value-driven political leadership to improve this situation.
The Vice President also highlighted the importance of promoting right values across schools, institutions, and government agencies to lay a solid foundation for future progress. He emphasized that interventions in developing governance infrastructure are essential to harmonize and supervise policy-making processes in the country.
Shettima commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his dedication to repositioning the state through development projects and urged North-East state governors to be more united in addressing the challenges of underdevelopment in the sub-region.
In addition to inaugurating the remodeled Government House, Shettima also launched the 15th Edition of the North-East Domestic Trade Fair and other projects executed by the Bala Mohammed administration. The event was attended by governors from Borno, Gombe, Adamawa, Yobe, and Taraba states.
