In a recent development, social media influencer Martins Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, has issued a formal apology to prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN. This comes in response to derogatory comments made by Otse regarding Falana’s alleged involvement in bribery accusations related to cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During his appearance before the Nigerian House of Representatives, VeryDarkMan expressed regret for the “offensive, derogatory bribery allegations” that had implicated Falana. He emphasized that he did not believe Falana was involved in any wrongdoing and acknowledged that his comments had unfairly targeted the respected lawyer.
Otse stated, “Apparently now, some people are taking the advantage of what is going to target Femi Falana. Here I apologise; it’s so sad that his name was inside that audio. I couldn’t believe as well; that is the part that irritated me more, which I said I refuse to believe that he is a party to something like that.”
This apology marks a significant turn in the narrative surrounding the allegations, as VeryDarkMan seeks to clarify his stance and distance Falana from the controversy.
