Chairman of UPPP Lauds Hon.Bashir Gegu For Role In Kogi Poll

 

The Chairman of United Progressive Political Parties in Kogi State, Malam Bala Abdulghafar Dirisu has commended Hon. Bashir Gegu, the Commissioner For Mineral Resources in Kogi State for his immense contribution towards the success of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the November 11 gubernatorial polls .

While speaking to journalists in Lokoja on Friday on the outcome of the Gubernatorial election, Mallam Bala Abdulghafar Dirisu explained that,
“Without the selfless and tireless efforts of Hon. Bashir Gegu, the forces of tribalism, religious bigotry and sentimentalism would have overwhelmed the party and had it consumed during the election.

The Chairman of UPPP then called on the incoming Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to retain Hon. Bashir Gegu in his administration so that the people of Kogi can benefit from his immense wealth of experience and good will.

“The good people of Kogi have taken note of the Commissioner and wish that he is retained in the next administration so that we can work with him on the Kogi Agenda

“We wish to state categorically that our loyalty lies with the incoming Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and with hon.Hon.Bashir Gegu under the mentorship of The indefatigable and Amiable Governor His excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello in his administration, we feel the cause of Kogi will be further enhanced.

Dirisu further reiterated his call to the opposition parties to join hands with the incoming Governor to move Kogi ahead .

“I commend Senator Dino Melaye and Comrade Murtala Yakubu Ajaka for the good fight they put up, however in a democratic contest, only one party must emerge, Nonetheless, it is incumbent on other contestants to join hands with the winner to move ahead.

“It is our call therefore, that the opposition gladiators join hands with Ododo to move ahead the Kogi Agenda.
