The Agenyi Attah of Igala Kingdom,Chief Ogwu James Onoja ( SAN ) in what has become his annual event organized for Unyi-Ogugu Community which includes twelve community in the district of Ogugu, the football competition had total of 34 matches that was played from 18th December to 31 December 2021, a popular “Unyi Ogugu” football tournament has become an annual event since 2017 with 12 community participation annually.
With 12 teams participating annually in the annual competition with sole aimed at fostering unity, peace and harmony among the people of the Ogugu in Kogi East without any political undertones, the “Unyi Ogugu football competition foster unity and peaceful co-existence among the people of rural areas.

The price tag for the Winner is One hundred and twenty thousand, the second is Seventy thousand naira while the third position went home with the sum of fifty thousand naira only, the organizer also bought Jersey for all the twelve teams that participated with shoes and allowance per match for every team for 34 matches
Chief Ogwu Onoja SAN said “as we are aware like any other sports, there is no permanent enemy in sports, this competition will bring together and unite the community especially the youths irrespective of their, religious and political affiliation.
“The competition will also provide an avenue for the two communities and other people to interact, to exchange positive ideas and pleasantries as well as making the youth to discover their hidden talents as well as reducing youth restiveness in my area and the state at large,’’ he said.

Chief Ogwu James Onoja SAN who hails from Ofante Ogugu Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State is in the business of paying NECO Fees and giving scholarships to Ofante Sons and Daughters for such a long time and he is still doing it. Similarly ,Chief Ogwu James Onoja SAN , the founder of Deacon Job and Omada Onoja’s Foundation at a point released 20 million Naira to the foundation for NECO Fees and scholarships to higher institutions.
Speaking further, the legal giant called on Nigerians to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, live in peace and shun all negative tendencies in order to achieve permanent peace in the country.
The traditional title holder restated his commitment to continue to key in to youths and people friendly programmes in order to better the standard of living of the people of the area and the state at large.
