Kogi East recently convened its inaugural zonal executives meeting at the Idah office, attended by the State Party Chairman, Hon. Enemona Anyebe, and Zonal Chairman, Hon. Igagwu Idris. The meeting highlighted the unanimous decision to relocate the Zonal office back to Idah, the designated Senatorial headquarters, a move that was well-received by all party chairmen present.
During the meeting, Hon. Igagwu Idris urged divisional chairmen to exercise caution regarding the emergence of multiple aspirants for various positions, emphasizing that such a situation has contributed to the challenges faced by the party. He proposed a focus on consensus candidates to help reduce the costs associated with candidate selection.
Hon. Enemona Anyebe reiterated his commitment to reconciling with party members who have left for various reasons, stressing the importance of unity for the party’s advancement. He emphasized reconciliation as a key strategy for the party’s progress.
Additionally, Hon. Paul Ukwenya, the State Financial Secretary, encouraged party chairmen to initiate grassroots movements, reaching out to units and wards to attract former members back to the party. He expressed appreciation for the decision to relocate the Zonal office to Idah, aligning with the party’s constitutional guidelines.
Hon. Tijani Aruwa also contributed to the discussion, advocating for unity within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a fundamental step toward achieving electoral success. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to work collaboratively for the party’s future.
