Graduate Nurses from Nigerian Universities can now be engaged in one year internship program like their counterparts in other Medical lines, like Medicine, Pharmacy, Laboratory and others in the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital UATH Gwagwalada.
This positive developement was as result of accreditation of the program for the first time in January 2020,after all the criteria were fulfilled by the Hospital.
This was disclosed by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Professor Bissala Ekele during a visit to the tertiary Health institution.
Professor Bissala Ekele said the Hospital is the only one providing such services in the entire FCT.
‘We are presently the only Health facility within the FCT that offers internship for nurse graduates’. The CMD maintained.
With the approval of internship for nurse graduates’,it will improve the services,teaching and learning in line with the Medical profession.
Before now,the Hospital served as training centre for students of FCT School of Nursing and Midwifery located in the institution.
