In a groundbreaking turn of events, the Kogi State Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Murtala Yakubu Ajaka hailed Natasha H Akpoti–Uduaghan’s recent confirmation as the legitimately elected Senator of Kogi state’s Central Senatorial District. The victory was portrayed as a triumph of democracy over the tumultuous forces of anarchy.
Ajaka passionately expressed that the judiciary’s decision in favor of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) Abubakar Sadiq Ohere at the Court of Appeal exemplified a resolute stance against electoral malpractices and violence. He emphasized the rekindling of hope that any electoral victory obtained through illegitimate means would only be transient.
“The attempts to subvert your resounding victory, despite winning four out of five Local Government Areas in the Central Senatorial District, exemplify the audacious heist perpetrated by desperate agents of anarchy. However, your unwavering determination and the judiciary’s commitment to impartial justice have put an end to the era of electoral impunity in Kogi State,” declared Ajaka in a congratulatory statement released by his spokesman, Hon Faruk Adejoh-Audu
Ajaka further heralded Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s achievement as an inspiration, fortifying his resolve to confront the undemocratic elements that have marred elections in Kogi State, reducing them to bloodshed and manipulation.
He depicted her as an authentic lioness, symbolically conquering and dismantling the illusory “White Lion,” a thinly veiled reference to the State Governor, Mr Yahaya Bello
The bold and spirited victory of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan not only stands as a personal accomplishment but also serves as a symbol of hope and resilience against electoral irregularities, setting a new precedent for fair and just governance in the region.
