Tragedy Strikes Kano Mosque: Man Sets Fire, Injuring 24 Worshippers

A devastating incident occurred on Wednesday in Gezawa, Kano State, when a 38-year-old man, Shafi’u Abubakar, deliberately set a mosque ablaze while worshippers were performing their early morning prayers. The attack resulted in 24 injuries, with 20 male adults and 4 male children receiving treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano.

According to the Kano State Police Command, the suspect had a personal vendetta against certain individuals who he believed had cheated him during the sharing of inheritance. In a shocking act of revenge, Abubakar locked the mosque, poured petrol, and set it ablaze, putting the lives of many at risk.
