Tragedy Strikes in Abuja: Retired Army General Killed in Estate Robbery

 

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a manhunt for the killers of retired Army Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwere, who was slain in a robbery attack at Sunshine Estate in Abuja on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

According to the police, a group of armed robbers invaded the estate, broke into the general’s residence, and shot him during a struggle. The Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, has condemned the attack and promised to leave no stone unturned in apprehending the perpetrators.

The police have commenced a thorough investigation into the incident and are urging anyone with useful information to come forward. The retired general’s body has been deposited at a hospital mortuary for autopsy, while the investigation is ongoing.
