Tinubu Sacks FRSC Boss, Appoints Shehu Mohammed New FRSC Corps Marshal

 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). This appointment was announced in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, dated May 20, 2024.

In accordance with Section 7(1) of the Federal Road Safety Commission Act of 2007, this appointment takes effect from May 20, 2024. Shehu Mohammed succeeds Dauda Ali Biu as the head of the corps. His tenure is initially for a period of four years, as stipulated in the Act establishing the commission.

President Tinubu has charged the appointee to bring his extensive experience to bear in his new role, leading the FRSC towards achieving its mandate of ensuring road safety across the country.
