US law enforcement agencies have maintained that Nigerians do not have the right to unrestricted access to President Bola Tinubu’s past records, according to a memorandum filed by the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Renowned journalist David Hundeyin shared this information on Twitter.
Last year, a court denied an emergency application seeking the release of confidential information on President Bola Tinubu. Hundeyin provided an update, stating that the three US agencies filed their defense against the summary judgment regarding Tinubu’s drug trafficking investigation records.
The CIA’s filing suggested that Nigeria’s president is an active CIA asset, citing the need to protect human sources. The DEA also opposed full disclosure of Tinubu’s heroin trafficking investigation records, claiming that Nigerians have a right to know about their government but not about their president’s activities.
Hundeyin expressed frustration with the US government’s role in destabilizing Africa and supporting corrupt leaders.
