RE: KOGI GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: SDP CANDIDATE, MURTALA YAKUBU AJAKA IN DUD CHEQUE SCANDAL
For the past few days, our principal, Dr Mohammed Shaibu Tettes has been inundated with questions, persuasions and even threats over this publication. For the avoidance of doubt, it has become necessary to set the records straight and to put the matter to permanent rest.
Accordingly, we state as follows
1. That Alhaji Murtala Yakubu aka Muri , the Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) did not give any cheque to Dr Mohammed Shaibu Tettes. Consequently, the issue of DUD cheque as contained in the said publication is completely false and totally unfounded.
2. That the said publication was neither sponsored by Dr Shaibu nor was it done with his approval. The publication was brought to his knowledge for the first time by Alhaji Muritala Yakubu.
3. That Dr Mohammed Shaibu Tettes is not in court over the issue of Returned cheque nor for any other matter whatsoever.
4. That Dr Mohammed Shaibu Tettes did not relinquish his candidacy of SDP to Muri, rather it was a manipulation of the party, SDP for which necessary action will be taken against the party (not Muri) at the appropriate time.
5. That as a patriot and as a leader who believes in the wider Kogi agenda and any other genuine agenda that aims to foster growth and development of Kogi State, Dr Shaibu Tettes will never take any action that has the potentials of derailing the collective interest of Kogi State.
6. Finally, we thank millions of well wishers, supporters and friends of Dr Tettes who called him personally or chatted him to express their concerns over this issue.
