The Only Offesnse Bello Committed was, He contested Against Tinubu- Prince Kolawole Defends Yahaya Bello Amid Ongoing EFCC Dispute

Kogi State, – Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole, has issued a statement regarding the ongoing issues faced by former Governor Yahaya Bello with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Kolawole expressed his concern over what he described as an unfortunate situation for Bello, who has made significant sacrifices for the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly during the recent general elections.

“Frankly speaking, what is happening to former Governor Yahaya Bello today is very unfortunate,” Kolawole stated. “This man has sacrificed so much for the APC, especially during the 2023 elections. There is nothing wrong with anyone aspiring for any position. If he aspired to be the President of this country, that desire should not be interpreted as a reason for his recent persecution by the EFCC, particularly by those who may feel threatened by his rising political influence.”

Kolawole highlighted that after losing in the presidential primaries, Bello promptly pledged his support for the APC’s candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demonstrating his commitment to the party.

Additionally, Kolawole noted that Yahaya Bello has served as the Chairman of various youth organizations across the country, successfully mobilizing Nigerian youths to vote for the APC in Kogi, achieving a remarkable 100% voter turnout in the recent elections. “Yahaya Bello has done a lot for our party, and the challenges he faces today stem from individuals in positions of power who are orchestrating his persecution,” Kolawole added.

Prince Mathew Kolawole calls for a fair and impartial examination of the circumstances surrounding Yahaya Bello’s situation, urging that political aspirations should not lead to unjust treatment. He emphasizes the need for unity and support within the APC as the party moves forward.
