According to the Oxford dictionary, racism was explained as prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
This cankerworm has found its ugly way into the blood of the Igala people.
Many times we find ourselves discriminating against our own.
Some feel that they are more Igala than the other.
We are quick to cry foul when the same thing is done to a black man by the whites.
In the early 2000, it was rumoured that some group of persons told H.E Ibrahim Idris that he was not originally from Idah. They said his roots was from another tribe.
This angered him and he left Idah for Abejukolo heartbroken. He stopped to frequent Idah and even now, it is obvious that he doesn’t care anymore. This is bad.
This kind of dirty and disgusting issues are usually in the air during electioneering periods.
Early this year, Joel Eleojo Adams, an Igala Son made history by becoming the First Non British to be commissioned as an Aero-Systems Specialist Engineer to the rank of a flying Officer in the British Royal Air Force.
We were all happy and all. But if an illustrious son or daughter of the land decides to run for a political post, we are quick to tag them as non Igalas.
This has deprived us millions of blessings and speedy human capital and infrastructural developments.

Let’s take a cue from Lagos state, many people who ruled and are developing the state aren’t originally from the state.
