The Management of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board under the leadership of Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran received in person the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Hon. Kunle Yusuff (Mon) today at the official presentation of the student edition of the global goals for sustainable development for the use of public primary schools in the State.
The epoch making occasion which held at the Board Headquarters in Ibadan had a lot of important dignitaries and personalities was made possible by the excellent synergy that exist between the Governor’s SDGs office and the State Universal Basic Education Board

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Mr. O. J Adeniyi while giving his welcome address appreciated the Board Chairman and the management for the upright leadership and capacity that has positioned OYO SUBEB as one of the leading lights in quality basic education service in the country. He also appreciated the Executive Governor for making the work of the board easy
Hon. Kunle Yusuff (mon) mentioned in his Keynote Address that the event was necessary to integrate the seventeen (17) points agenda of the SDGs into basic education in the states
He said that 198 cartons of the Global Edition of the global goals for sustainable development goals Textbooks are available for pupils in primary 4, 5 and 6 in primary schools in Oyo State
He explained that the Textbooks will help the students as well as the teachers.
The Executive Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran during his speech explained the contents of the Textbooks. He said that the books are useful for both the teachers and the pupils. He mentioned that basic education is important and strategic to the success of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The High point of the occasion was the very exciting, interesting and brilliant manner the pupils from Ibadan North East and Ibadan North LGUBEAs presented and recited the 17 SDGs goals to the delight of the teachers who were present, Oyo Subeb Management, The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs and other relevant stakeholders

Hon. Kunle Yusuff (Mon) while presenting the Textbooks said that there will be future partnership and synergy between his office and Oyo SUBEB because apart from 17 SDGs goals, he also has 169 targets of which 11 of them has to do with basic education.
The Chairman while receiving the Textbooks admonished the teachers to see to it that the Textbooks are used for the purpose it was meant for and not abused in any form.
The National Union Of Teachers, Oyo State Chapter’s Chairman Mr. Tọju Adedoyin during the vote of thanks appreciated the Board Chairman, SSA, Oyo SDGs and other relevant stakeholders and He promised that the teachers will use the Textbooks judiciously and appropriately
The Oyo SUBEB Chairman presented one copy each of the Textbooks to pupils present at the occasion as well as the Oyo State UBEC Coordinator, Dr. Mrs Gbagi, LGUBEAs representative and the NUT State Chairman.
