” Echocho has already left politics when the present APC leaders begged him to return. I was among those who convinced Him to rekindle his political mission and come back and pursue it assiduously.
I’m not privileged to whatever discussion or agreement that transpired between them but I’m aware that he was begged to accept to run for senate position considering his intellectual capacity and his periodic display of his intellectualism.
The Eastern party Chairman, Alhaji Ahmedi Attah and the present Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja also approached me and asked me to run for House of Representatives election while my Boss should run for senate. And that we should support His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello two tenures. And after Bello’s tenure APC will return the Governorship ticket to the east. And they will also give Echocho their full support. I declined the offer to run for the election because I had no political ambitions of whatsoever. I also told them that it won’t be proper for myself and my Boss to stand in for the post of National Assembly as if we don’t have people in kogi state aside two of us.
I heard about the rumor going on around the state that one of these guys is seriously working underground to aspire and run for the governorship election in the year 2023. I said to myself that this is a pure political morality been crippled.
Even though my principal did not show interest in the future elections of whatsoever, morality demands that his personality should be respected, the governor and his deputy along side the APC leaders should respect these gentleman agreement. Giving power to the factors who nearly killed all the people of Kogi state in the first tenure of Governor Bello would amount to another tenure of calamity and parochial economy and social quagmire.
The second tenure of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is worth appreciating and high commendation compared to the hell on earth government of his first tenure just because he entrusted governance to some of our eastern Brothers in order to make us be at home but to our greatest surprised, our brothers indulged in enriching themselves and inflicted poverty and pains to our people at its peak.
I’m sure that the Governor is highly observant of that and will not make a mistake of giving power to those wicked souls.
Your Excellency, I’m not particularly saying that power should be giving to Echocho, I’m simply saying that you should a God fearing fellow to take over from you. We all know that you are a good man, a God fearing person and an easy going person but if not for your second tenure no body would have known of these good qualities in you. Wallahi I personally thought that we were back to the regime of pharaoh. Just give glory to your God for your returned to the government house to prove your innocence in the brutal government we had in your first tenure.
May Allah give you the wisdom to govern kogi state more graciously, peacefully and pleasantly. ”
