The battle of godfather and godson, Oyetola cancels Aregbesola’s single uniform policy in Osun schools

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has dropped the single uniform for all students introduced by his predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola.
Oyetola administration had earlier directed schools to revert to their old names before Aregbesola changed them.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Jamiu Olawumi, said all schools should revert to their old uniforms at the beginning of the new academic session which will start on November 9, 2020.
He spoke on Thursday during a program on a private radio station in Osogbo, Rave FM.
He also said the state government had made adequate preparations for the planned reopening of schools, saying everything would be done to ensure strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
Olawumi said, “Reversal of the schools’ names will take place immediately but the reversal to the old uniforms will commence on November 9, which is the start of the new academic session.
“We want to assure all stakeholders in the state’s education sector that the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has put everything in place to ensure that our pupils are safe in schools.”
He said the administration had invested a lot to reposition the education sector in the state, saying the state would soon begin to reap the benefits this.
Recall that the governor had in March reversed the school reclassification policy of the Aregbesola administration.
